YEP On-Site Coordinator | Neuroscience 2019
WHY DID YOU BECOME A PART OF SCOPE?
My freshman year I was offered a slice of pizza if I talked to a club at a small activities fair. I met one of the Executive Coordinators for YEP there and immediately felt how passionate she was about the program's mission. I joined that fall, found some of my greatest friends and haven't looked back. Greatest slice of pizza ever.
WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO LEAD YOUR SPECIFIC PROGRAM?
It's so important to recognize the privilege we have to be in positions where we're able to provide mentorship. My fellow mentors are some of the most compassionate and conscious people I've been so lucky to meet and I wanted to contribute to providing that environment to future mentors and mentees. Most of all, getting to work with the students of Stoner Avenue watching them grow academically and personally over the years has been incredible. YEP has been one of the defining aspects of my time at UCLA and I am so grateful to get to give back to an organization that's given me so much.
I accidentally broke my brother's leg when I was five.
FUTURE GOALS AND ASPIRATIONS
I would love to be a pediatrician!
